To our dear UBI partners,
After enjoying our first two terms in the classroom, Covid is once again pushing record numbers Ukraine. Kyiv is back in the red zone and so UBI is back online. It looks as though it will stay this way until at least the end of the term, at which point our students will be off for their winter practicum. We are sad to end the semester this way, but we are grateful to have the resources to continue our studies together despite the pandemic.
The second term was a real challenge, especially for many of our first-year students. They had Bible History, Jeremiah and Ezekiel, and a preaching class. It was a packed three weeks full of reading and studying for tests, and they were all very ready for their fall break which came right after. Our second level students enjoyed The Gospel of John and Difficult Passages taught by one of UBI’s alumni, Valeriy Kolchik, and Jay Don Rogers joined our students online from Canada for Church History.
New Student Updates
Each month, the students are required to write an update for their supporters and home churches. I’ve decided to start sharing these reports with all of you so you can hear directly from them. Here’s a preview from our second-year student, Dima Vorobev.
I want to acknowledge Gabe Fisher and his heart in class and for the way he gave us the basics of the Greek language that the New Testament was written in. He gave us a solid foundation and motivated us to continue studying the Scriptures. Also, I had personally studied the books of Jeremiah and Ezekiel on my own which certainly came in handy during my studies here, but the level of knowledge Sergei Voitsekhovksiy has about these books inspires respect and maybe even reverence because it’s not easy to study them. I’m grateful to him for that. I would also add that I’ve been somewhat surprised at how much a person really needs to study the Bible, and that, in many ways, we have so much room to grow. Realizing this fact is a humbling and sobering experience.

As always, we thank you so much for your love and support for the Ukrainian Bible Institute. We appreciate every single prayer.
Until next time,
Brandon Price
