A former UBI student has been killed in action
Artem leaves behind a wife, a child, and another on the way
Our hearts were broken yesterday when we learned that Artem Vinogradov, a former student of UBI, was killed in action defending his country. The many posts among the Christians in Ukraine show how much he was loved.
He was brought to Christ by Fedor Chernichkin's family and the church in Poltava. He attended UBI in 2020. He was a sharp student, and I will always remember his good nature, his smile and his love to laugh. He had overcome much in his past, and his future was bright.
After his first year with us in Kyiv, he decided to return home where he married and continued serving the church. When the war began, he helped in the delivery of humanitarian aid in Poltava and to nearby cities. He was also a contact person for many people evacuating from the east. He was drafted into the army in December 2022.
We grieve today with his family and with the church in Ukraine as we have lost a dear friend, brother, and leader. But we do not grieve as those who have no hope. We will see Artem again. Praise God for the eternal life we have in Christ!
He is survived by his wife, his one-year-old son, and another child on the way.
If anyone would be willing to send money to his wife and children family to help them during this very difficult time, please do so using the account information below.
Please pray for Artem's family today. And keep praying for an end to this terrible war!
